INDIVIDUAL THERAPY, ADULTS AND ADOLESCENTS

Christina Mayhaus

Owner | LPCC-S, NCC

I am an independently Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervision designation (LPCC-S) and a Nationally Certified/Board Certified Counselor (NCC). I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and my Master of Arts in Counseling from Xavier University. I have grown up in Cincinnati and I have been working with children, teens, young adults, and adults in the mental health field for years.

I tailor my therapy approach to best fit the needs of the client I am working with – I believe that it’s important to fit the therapy to the client, not the other way around.

I work with each client to make sure that they are reaching their goals and are making the growth in therapy that they are looking for. I believe in the importance of creating a safe and open environment for personal growth and change to occur.

Areas of Expertise: Anxiety, depression, mood concerns, life transitions and changes, adjustments, LGBTQIA+, and trauma.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY, ADULTS

Anna Bettner

MSW, LISW

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW). I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton and went on to receive my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. I have experience working with adults of all ages and enjoy getting to know my clients and helping them discover the coping tools and strategies that work best for them.
I believe that our past shapes us into who we are, but does not have to define our future. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment therapy to help clients set and achieve goals. I create a safe and open space for my clients and welcome anyone wherever they are in their journey. Whether this is the first time you are considering therapy or you have given it many tries before, I welcome all with open arms and look forward to meeting you where you are in your personal journey.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY, ADULTS

Megan Swart

MSW, LSW

I’m a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and I've been a licensed social worker within the mental health field for seven years. I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University and my Masters of Social Work degree (also) from The Ohio State University. During my career, I have worked with individuals of various ages (children-adults) that have suffered from: addiction, depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. I’ve assisted clients in learning how to effectively cope with negative emotions, handle stressful situations, adapt to life changes/transitions and work on their recovery.

I’ve been fortunate to learn two valuable skill sets, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Therapeutic techniques that assist individuals with changing how they think and behave. I use them both personally and professionally when working with my clients. I believe in the success an individual can achieve when both CBT and DBT are learned and implemented. To ensure a client’s success, I construct a treatment plan that is tailored to the individual and specific to their needs and wants.

While working with clients, I believe it is important to create a safe environment that allows for the individual to be open and honest. A space that is conducive to growth and change, free of judgment and allowing the client to be themselves.

LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as a Licensed School Counselor. I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Wright State University and my Master of Arts in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University.  I have spent over fifteen years working with and supporting children, adolescents and adults in various educational and clinical settings.

I do not believe in a one-size fits all therapeutic model. I believe that we are all created with unique characteristics and given circumstances that need individualized attention.  Since I believe in a holistic approach, I help my clients create individualized treatment plans that will tap into their strengths that will help them feel better physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

I believe in creating relationships with my clients that are safe, nurturing, non judgmental and empowering. I believe that we can be the hero of our own story.

My core therapeutic orientations are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy.

Areas of Expertise: Depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma.

I look forward to helping you on your journey of healing.
